Vadodara: Ten persons tested positive for swine flu in the city on Tuesday even as the viral infection claimed one more life. With the fresh death, the number of victims of the feared flu rose to 24 in the Vadodara city and district.
The latest victim of the flu was an 83-year-old woman residing in the Tarsali area of the city. The fresh cases of the flu included five from the city, three from the Vadodara district outside city limits and one each from the Panchmahal and Mahisagar districts.
With the fresh cases, the total number of positive cases in the city went up to 288 out of which 17 have died. In the rural areas of Vadodara district, 61 have tested positive so far and seven of them died.
Official data reveals that 65 persons from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation areas are still hospitalised due to swine flu even as 16 from other parts of the Vadodara district are admitted to different hospitals in the city.
