Rajkot: The Rajkot Urban Development Authority (Ruda) is likely to approve construction of a 90m-wide road connecting the existing Ring Road 2 and under construction Ring Road 3,
This new road will connect Ghanteshawar to Khandheri where the AIIMS has been proposed.

Ruda chairman Banchha Nidhi Pani said, “The 3.2km long road will ease traffic for the people wanting to reach Khandheri stadium, AIIMS and the proposed New Hirasar international airport.”

The RUDA had prepared master plan for 2031 in 2013 in which this road was proposed. But with AIIMS and new international airport proposed in Rajkot, the road width has been doubled to 90m.

RUDA has already floated tenders for the Ring Road 3 from Kuvadva to Gauridad to connect the proposed new international airport with the smart city.

With the new network of roads, those coming from Gondal and Junagadh will easily reach AIIMS, Khandheri stadium and the international airport without entering the city. The people coming from Ahmedabad will also reach AIIMS and Khandheri stadium without entering the city.
