VIJAYAWADA: The much awaited AP DSC 2018 merit list was released by HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district, on Friday. The results have been published online on the official website of the School Education department. Candidates can access the district-wise and post-wise merit list, upon entering the verification code displayed on the website.
The HRD minister, upon releasing the results, said that the joining orders will be sent to the selected candidates on May 15 and a ten-day training programme will be conducted for the candidates before recruitment.
The officials also released the English Proficiency Test results of Principal, Postgraduate teacher (SGT) and Trained Graduate Teacher (SGT) candidates. The per cent of candidates qualified under Principal category is as low as 23.38 per cent. PGT candidates for Civics and Economics 5.7 per cent and 4.8 per cent qualified candidates respectively, the least performing group among all the categories.
The exam was conducted for 7,902 teacher posts in various state government schools and more than six lakh applications were received by the department. The exam, held in online mode in 124 examination centres across the state saw 85.81 per cent attendance, said the officials.
About 8,844 objections were received on the initial key and the subject expert committee found that only 136 objections are accepted on the substantial evidence and re-verification. The balance 8,708 objections are found to be baseless by the committee. Of the 136 objections, 48 questions were approved as the change of answers, 41 were approved as add scores and 47 questions had double answers.
Of the total 52 categories of posts, results were declared for 46, said the officials. The remaining six categories including Telugu School Assistant, Telugu Language Pandit, Hindi School Assistant, Hindi Language Pandit, Physical Education Teacher and School Assistant (Physical Education), have not been declared due to court cases.
