BATHINDA: on Friday celebrated its 1oth foundation day at BR Ambedkar Auditorium.
The university was established in 2009 by an act of parliament. The of the university and noted agricultural economist Prof SS Johl participated in the celebration.
University vice-chancellor Professor RK Kohli shared the university’s journey in the last 10 years from 3 room camp office to current 37 acres city campus and upcoming 500 acres ultramodern campus at village Ghudha near . He exhibited the university’s documentary prepared by students of mass communications and media studies department. He mentioned it is credited as highest per capita research funding university among newly established central universities.
In his presidential address, chancellor Prof SS Johl appreciated the progress of university in the last 10 years. He mentioned that it has a national character, state of the art infrastructure and many opportunities to be expanded further. He urged youngsters to serve society and act as a nationalist by keeping our country ahead of our religion.
During the foundation day ceremony, special awards and appreciation certificates were given to university students, research scholars, teaching faculty and staff members based on their annual performance. Kunj Bihari Gupta got the award for the best research scholar. Vijay K Sharma and Ms Sushmita Karmakar awarded in the best student category. The title for the best teacher of the university was given to Kamlesh Yadav, Raj Kumar, Rajendra Singh Dhayal and Biplab Banerjee. The best non-teaching employee was accorded to Taranveer Kaur, Devi Lal and Parminder Singh.
