KOLKATA: Doctors treating the cyclist who suffered five fractures on his right leg after being hit by a bus at the Sarat Bose Road-Rashbehari Avenue crossing on Saturday will decide on the course of treatment on Monday, after a detailed check-up. His condition is critical, said doctors at SSKM Hospital.
The bus plying on Route No. 234 was racing with another bus on the same route when the accident took place. Rabi Das (42) was flung off his cycle and his right leg was crushed under the front wheel of the bus. He was first admitted at , and shifted to SSKM Hospital early on Sunday.
A doctor at SSKM Hospital said: “His haemoglobin level was very low when he was brought to the hospital. He was given two units of blood. On Monday, his haemoglobin level will be checked again followed by multiple X-rays and the condition of the wound. After that the date and time of the surgery would be fixed.”
“My uncle has two children aged 10 and 8. He is the sole earning member of the family. We just wish he recovers quickly,” said Subhajit Dutta, Das‘s nephew.
