CHENNAI: The (DMK) on Tuesday signed a seat-sharing agreement with Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) at the DMK headquarters here. DMK has given one seat to the KMDK and it will be contesting on DMK‘s election symbol, the rising Sun. The agreement was signed by DMK president and KMDK chief E R Eswaran.
The first level talks between DMK and KDMK took place on Saturday last and a decision was taken to give one seat to the party but a final agreement could not be signed as Stalin was not in Chennai.
“We have allocated one seat by DMK as per the talks we held with DMK‘s seat-sharing committee. We will contest on DMK symbol and we will work for DMK alliance in western districts,” Eswaran told mediapersons at Anna Arivalayam.
So far DMK has shared 12 seats out of 40 seats, including Puducherry. Out of this Congress has received 10 seats, IUML one and KMDK one seat.
