Ranchi: Jharkhand Advocates’ Association on Wednesday held a condolence meeting and collected funds for the men martyred in the terror attack last week. The programme was held on the call given by (JSBC). The JSBC had asked district bar associations, sub-divisional associations and the Advocates’ Associations to hold the general body meeting to condole the death of jawans.
Advocate General Ajit Kumar, who is also a member of the Advocates’ Association, led a group of lawyers to collect funds on the court campus. “The donation has been collected voluntarily from the lawyers, staff and clients on the HC premises. The collections will be sent to the Bar Council of India. The money will be forwarded by the council to the PM’s relief fund or the relief fund controlled by the defence forces,” Kumar said.
He added: “The council has also resolved to provide free legal aid to the dependents of martyrs to enable them get the promised government benefits. The lawyers will also ensure that their properties are safe and secure”.
The council members also decided to visit the family of , the CRPF jawan from Gumla martyred in Pulwama, to express solidarity and offer assistance. “All affiliated associations of JSBC, including 24 district bar associations and 12 sub-divisional association, organized general body meetings and collected funds for the martyrs,” said JSBC secretary Rajesh Pandey.
