Rajkot: Three accused who had allegedly helped the infamous history-sheeter, , ,
The accused were identified as Juned Memon, a resident of Moti Bazaar in Gondal, and Shabir Nagani and Noormohammed Memon, both residents of Phulwadi locality of Gondal.

“During their interrogation, the trio said that after they received a call from Kataria, asking them to help him dispose off the body, they went to help him,” said M N Rana, inspector with Rajkot rural local crime branch.

Kataria alias Imalo (27), a history-sheeter from Gondal, was arrested on February 21, for allegedly setting ablaze Goswami (25) on the way to Kantolia village from Gondal in Rajkot district on the night of February 13.

Investigation revealed that Kataria had first shot Goswami dead with his country made pistol in Khatkivas locality of Gondal and then had set her body ablaze in the bushes near Kantolia village.

According to police, some of Goswami’s body parts did not burn completely. So Kataria packed them into a bag and dumped it under the bridge over a stream.

“We had tracked Kataria on the basis of Goswami’s call record details. Her cellphone was found from under the bridge over a river in Khatkivas. As she had last spoken to Kataria, we rounded him up from his residence. During interrogation, Kataria confessed to the crime,” said Rana.

During his interrogation, Kataria told the cops that he had a four-month-old affair with Goswami and that he had murdered Goswami as she insisted on him marrying her. “Kataria said as he was already married, he felt pressurized to keep relations with Goswami who wanted to move to his house. Hence, he decided to kill her,” added Rana.
