Vadodara: Two more persons died due to swine flu in the city on Friday. The latest victims were elderly women admitted in different hospitals in the city taking the death toll due to the viral flu to 28 in Vadodara city and district.
The women who died on Friday included an 83-year-old woman from Gorwa and a 63-year-old from Manjalpur. Of the 23 samples that were tested for swine flu on Thursday 11 were found positive.

The positive cases included nine from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits, one from the neighbouring district of Bharuch and one from Madhya Pradesh. Four of the persons who tested positive are elderly persons.

So far, 376 persons from Vadodara city and district have tested positive for the flu so far. These include 314 from the city limits (VMC areas) while 62 are from other areas of the district. As many as 19 persons have died in the city due to the viral infection while nine have succumbed to it in parts of the district outside the city.

Official figures reveal that 74 persons from the district suffering from swine flu are still admitted in various hospitals in the city. These include 66 from VMC areas while the remaining eight are from the rural areas.
